Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic full-body massage using warm, herbalized oils tailored to your unique body type (dosha). It is deeply nourishing, detoxifying, and calming to the nervous system.
Abhyanga supports:
  • Detoxification and improved circulation
  • Relief from muscle stiffness and joint pain
  • Enhanced skin tone and luster
  • Calming of the mind and nervous system
  • Better sleep and energy balance
At Ayurvedamrut, our experienced Ayurvedic Licensed Massage Practitioners use warm, dosha-specific oils and rhythmic massage techniques to stimulate lymphatic flow, improve circulation, and bring deep relaxation. The Abhyanga includes full body oil application with the massage along energy channels and Marma (vital) points with various techniques.

We offer:

  • Full-body Abhyanga (60 min)
  • Abhyanga with Swedana (75–90 min) – includes herbal steam therapy after the massage to enhance detoxification.
If it’s your first visit, we recommend a short wellness intake and consultation to determine your dosha so that we can select the right herbal oil. This ensures the Abhyanga is personalized and most effective for you.
We use organic, medicated oils prepared with traditional Ayurvedic herbs such as Ashwagandha, Bala, Dashamoola, Brahmi, or other herbs – depending on your constitution and health condition.
Yes! Regular Abhyanga can help reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, insomnia, arthritis, back pain, and fatigue. It’s a gentle yet powerful therapy to bring balance to both body and mind.
  • Come on a light stomach (avoid heavy meals 1–2 hours prior)
  • Wear comfortable clothing; we’ll provide everything you need
  • Allow some rest time after the session to integrate the benefits
We recommend allowing the herbal oils to stay on the skin for at least 1–2 hours post-treatment to nourish the tissues deeply. If needed, we offer an optional herbal steam (Swedana) or clean towels to gently cleanse.
Frequency depends on your lifestyle and health goals:
  • For general wellness: once every 2–4 weeks.
  • For stress or chronic pain : weekly or part of a Panchakarma series
Do not take Abhyanga if you have:
  • An active infection
  • Temperature (Fever)
  • Untreated Cancer
  • Are too tired and have too much fatigue
  • Active Skin issues
  • Undiagnosed swelling or lumps
  • Are intoxicated
